- GATE 2024 is an all-India examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE.
- It is an essential exam for admission into postgraduate engineering programs (M.E./M.Tech./Ph.D.) in Indian institutes like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutes).
- The GATE 2024 exam is likely to be held in early February 2024 as it is usually conducted in the first week of February every year.
- It tests the comprehensive understanding of candidates in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects like Bio-Medical Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, etc.
